ABOUT {OUR PLACE} We have a fantastic new Studio Loft at 3 1/2 East Main Street in Mooresville as well as our custom built sets in our Outdoor Studio. Many sets at the Outdoor give the impression that it is indoors but they are in fact all outside. The Studio Lot is available June through the middle of November. The Studio Loft is available anytime. { LOCATION} There are allot of great outdoor spots within wlaking and a 3 minute drive from the studio loft! Much of the outdoor shots you see on the website and blog are right around town in Mooresville. Outdoor and location settings offer the best lighting and also the best props are those nature provides, letting imaginations take over and creating perfect and unique photo opportunities. We also like to do session safaris and use the White River Canal, downtown Indy, city streets, bridges, ruins, alleys, various parks. If you have a location in mind for your session be sure to let us know. There is usually no place to change out on location so many times you may end up changing in the car. We highly recommend wearing a tank top and boy shorts perhaps, under your outfits to make changing easier while out on location.
LET'S TALK ABOUT {CLOTHES} 1. Bring at least 5 and no more than 9 outfits. Come dressed in one of your casual outfits. Arrive on time and with your hair done and makeup already applied. 2. Bring at lease a few solid color items. Prints or patterns are okay too, especially if they are your favorite outfits, but solids and small prints usually photograph best. 3. Make sure everything is ironed and on hangers. Put each set of jewelry in a plastic baggie and hang it on the hanger with that outfit. This will save you time and we will get to shoot more if you aren’t having to untangle all your necklaces. 4. Bring last year's prom dress or heck this year's prom dress!!! 5. Bring at least one outfit that your parents love and you hate. Bring at least one outfit that you love and your parents hate! 6. Bring some long sleeve shirts. Sleeveless shirt tend to make your arms looks bigger so remember that when making your shirt choices. 7. Make sure you brring shoes, accessories and jewelry for each outfit. 8. Bring the proper undergarments for each outfit. Guys-if you are going to wear a t-shirt under another shirt, make sure you match dark with dark and light with light. Girls, make sure you bring the proper bra for each top and don't forget the proper underwear if you are bringing white pants. 9. Wild to mild, we don't really tell you what you can and cannot wear. A little sexy is ok, but don't make all of your outfits that way. We photograph everything from prom dresses to swimsuits, cheerleading outfits to raggedy jeans and novelty t-shirts, party dresses, your boyfriends football or baseball jersey, baseball caps, hats, heels, and boots, layers, jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, skirts, dresses, pants, capris, jeans, jeans with holes, your senior jeans, winter hats and scarves, coats with hoods and fur. Check out fashion magazines for ideas on new trends and fashion. Never under estimate how gorgeous you might look in a cowboy hat. Winter hats, brimmed hats. Accessories take your session from blah to FABULOUS! 10.What one person likes may not be appropriate for the next person. Our philosophy is that as long as it is rated PG, we don't care.
{Makeup} Girls-your images will look better if you wear makeup. Even if you don't normally wear it, I suggest going to the Mac or your favorite department store makeup counter and having them apply your makeup. They can do it so that it looks completely natural. Having your makep done by a professional really adds a level of professionalism and finish to your shots. You won't regret it. {Lips} Pale shades of lipstick do not photograph well because they make your lips blend into your skin. You want to go a shade or two darker than you normally would. So bring lip stuff!!! Touch ups: Be sure to bring at least lipstick and powder to your session. Also bring a brush, hair clips, etc for hair changes. Guys make sure you bring chap stick too! {Eyes} Since many of your portraits will concentrate on your eyes, please make sure your eyeliner is straight and there are no clumps in your eyelashes. PLEASE wear mascara. Failing to do so will make you look like you have no eyelashes whatsoever in your portraits. {Acne} All portraits that you purchase will have basic retouching done to them, so you don't have to worry about a couple pimples. Wearing a light foundation and translucent powder will give your portraits a polished look, evening out your skin tones. {Personality} Make sure your bring things that show your personality. Like to read? Bring books. Like to shop? Bring lots of shopping bags. Are you in sports? Bring your uniform and sports gear. Like to listen to music? Bring your personal CD player or I pod. Are you a shoe person? Bring all your shoes (and some of mom's too)! Bring anything that shows who you are and what you like to do! I will create something that reflects YOUR personality!! Finally, make sure you browse through plenty of magazines and check out facial expressions. Practice in your mirror for different looks. Flirty, happy, sad, pouty, fun, angry. Prepare to just relax and have fun!
